Hi

Thought I would use the IR remote shutter control. Fitted new battery giving correct voltage, set the camera as per manual, set the control or rather tried as per the control manual.

Result nothing.

Perhaps someone can advise please.

Regards

Pat

I don't know which model Oly you have, but both my
C2000 and my C2100 require the Remote/Timer function
be enabled in the camera settings before the remote
will work. I guess this is to prevent on remote from
triggering a bunch of cameras in a crowded area???

My remote for 3040 came in a small plastic bag. I tried it ( while keeping in a bag) and it did not work. In order to make it work I had to remove small plastic tape which was protecting battery.
Than I just set Drive function to "self timer / remote" and everything was OK.

Check your manual/literature that came with the camera... there is a referance to switshing to an alternate channel relatong to interferance or poor signal connections... mine worked fine with the 3040z out of the box but, like Dave and Pat have stated-- the camera must be in the correct mode setting in order for the remote to function..... Good luck!!

You also might try hooking your camera to a TV/Video output to monitor your pix and see if you come up with a signal/connection that way... the remote is set up to handle slide show functions etc....
