Interested in the A7C, but should I wait for the A7C II?

I'm very interested in the A7C and it has a lot of features that I like. But it was released Oct 2020 and now coming close to 2 years old. I don't know when a A7C II would be released, but I would imagine before end of 2023?

Some of the thoughts going through my mind are:

1) When the A7C II comes out, I suspect it will have the better touch screen interface like the A7 IV. This is something that I would really like.

2) A7C II might have better processor like A7 IV, where as A7C has older processor from A7 III that is probably at it's limit.

3) Might regret getting A7C now if the price drops when A7C II is announced or RTM. Even if the A7C II doesn't seem worth it, I could at least get A7C at a lower price once A7C II is released.

This is mostly hobby interest, so I have no urgency in getting this camera as I have others.

What are other people's thoughts?

I have been pondering this too. I have a7iii so I am not in a rush, but I imagine I will really like the form factor of a7C given how much I liked my NEX-7. One minor thing is the 1/8000 shutter speed. I like to shoot as wide as I can outdoors. Will I miss it too much? Another issue is the screen. while people love the articulating screen, I am not super convinced yet, as I like taking waist level pictures and the old screen is perfect for that. Anyone had an issue with such?

No, I don't think so. 1/8000 works great when you use the silent shutter, which only in a few very specific circumstances is a problem.

I do prefer the simple tilt screen, but going to an articulating screen gives you the same angles, just needs a few additional twists and tilts. Sometimes slightly annoying, but not an issue. You can continue taking waist level shots.

A7c arrived from KEH yesterday. I fell in love with it. With the Samyang 35 2.8 it's as lightweight a travel kit as I could have hoped for, and its IQ is terrific. I don't know why people are whining about the small EVF . . . I find it super clear and as easy to use as the one on my A7Riii.
Enjoy the gem!

...or some of us have had it in our hands and find it was not to our liking.

I have an a7c and I love it. For photography it's awesome, but as far as video, its specs are lacking compared to some newer cameras. I got one for $1400, and for that price I think it is 100% worth it. I love how small and light the camera is, so I pair it with smaller lenses. It's about $1400 used on Adorama and mpb right now. I waited for the a7iv to come out before I bought it, and I was disappointed when the prices on eBay didn't change. I say go for it now.
