Me too. That's enough for me to not want one...No second-curtain sync... oh dear, can't see why when ALL other EOS
bodies except the ancient 750/850 can do this with 550EX. I am
privately hoping this is a mistake ;-)

----hi guys...
will there be any FEC for the 300D?
i use it ALL the time in my g5....
and i HOPE it will be in the 300D as well....
my g5 allows AUTO/MANUAL control of the flash...
In AUTO mode, E-TTL is still used, but u can compensate the flash..
if u switch to MANUAL mode, E-TTL is NOT used, and u just manually
control the out put of the flash in 16 steps...
im sure the 10D has this as well..
DOes the 300D have it? didnt read anything abt it in the manual..
Thanks!

Any DSLR beats unexposed film.
I've used a Sigma EF-500 Super to trigger my 420EX, it works fine as far as I can tell. I've also triggered both from an ST-E2, that seems to work fine as well.Well, at least in my case, since I was going to get 420EX (should
be enough for me for now) with digital Rebel. But without FEC, I'll
be better off getting Sigma 500 DG Super for about the same price.
And if I ever want to get the second flash, I'll have to buy one
more Sigma, instead of 550EX (AFAIK, Sigma and Canon wireless
flashes don't work well together).

Exposure control beeing used by this way for the flash doesn't resolve the peroblem using fill flash. This is a great problem, I am considering not to by 300D with this unuseful flash on. This is a TOO STRONGLY CRIPPLED!! One of the most important thing when shooting portraits is the fill flash! Nice backlight with well adjusted fill flash. The S400's manual makes no specific reference to flash exposure
control, but if the flash is on, the exposure control setting
controls the flash. Perhaps the same is true for the 300D.
