important - what is you k10d serial / batch ?

2244673, bought online from Imaging Resource in New York over the New Year. Got a new mainboard recently (warranty repair), that was on 1.00 too.

It is a very bad idea to give out serial numbers because of
insurance fraud.

How's that supposed to work? Since it's a serial number, I suppose it's easy to just guess a number in the correct range?

Just got mine Monday, and it's a 1.10 Great...

That would make me suspect I got a returned item somebody tried, updated and gave back. That probably says something about my black and pessimistic inside.

Bought mine a month ago from Samy's Camera in Los Angeles...and it came with ver 1.10. When I bought it they said they have been selling very well.

I am very anal when it come to making sure my camera has never been used. I aiways carefully inspect everything for any indication of being handled. I find that returns always have some indication of prior ownership.

Got my k10D from Adorama and with Ser no starting 238xxxx it still had 1.0 on it . How do u look at EXIF data to find manufacturing date. I also would like fresher product rather than older one if i am buying in June..

I looked in Picassa the exif date but could not find this information. What freeware tool can i use or Photlab provide that ?

Maybe something happened in the production about there. My exchanged one, mentioned above, has 2501* and was delivered with fw ver 1.00. They didn't mention if they had been returned in a great number as well?

I found the whole firmware/date thing kinda futile when I had my Nikon D200. It was manufactured after ones that had later firmware versions. Mine still had the original firmware eight months into production.

I think the flash memory is pre loaded with firmware and then installed in the camera. The flash probably comes from a couple different manufacturers so depending on what flash gets installed when determines what you have.
