So funny story, I have a macbook M1 running macOS 15, I have a Sony A7III with the latest firmware, I install the latest version of Imaging Edge Desktop, and it doesn't work. I can see the camera in the list of cameras to connect to, but when clicking on it I get this error : https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/app/imagingedge/img/faqs/faqs_pct_01_en.png

For the full story of what I did :
  • It worked the first time, then it stopped working
  • The FAQ (https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/app/imagingedge/en/faqs/) advises to disabled/re-enable the local network permission, which did nothing
  • Restarting the macbook did nothing
  • I managed to get it working a second time by completely uninstalling Imaging Edge Desktop, reinstalling it (at which point it prompted me to give access to local network, which I did), then the next time it stopped working. Since then I've tried to uninstall/reinstall multiple times, but it never prompted me for the local network permission again and it never worked again, despite checking that it does have the local network permission
  • I tried multiple usb cables, multiple usb ports
  • Unplugging/replugging the camera doesn't change anything
  • Meanwhile if I plug it on my windows desktop it works flawlessly every time.
Does anyone have any idea how to get this app working on macOS 15 ? I just want to get some work done please.

I'm not familiar with Sony but I have had issues with the Canon software used to download images to the Mac (EOS utility 3). The issue occurs when other software such as Photos, Preview, or Image Capture connects to the camera before the Canon software. I suggest making sure that Photos, Lightroom, Image Capture, etc. are not running. In addition, open Preview and then immediately quit (as Preview can sometimes lurks in the background). Only then try to use the software provided with your camera.

Hope this helps.
