If no G9 mk2, then why drop pre burst on GH6 (but add HHHR)?

Who (from Panasonic) said there won't be a G9 mark 2? Honestly I would be more surprised if there wasn't than if there was.

All I would want is the 25MP dual-gain sensor for Dynamic Range boost, and just the G9 features with that. I think that would be an excellent G9 mark 2. Improved stabilization, and any video enhancements, would just be icing on an already wonderful cake.
I think you are right but not even a hint that something like that is coming.

Out of interest which pre-burst you find most useful?

i found the 20fps too slow and the 60 fps too short but way more useful

FYI pro capture high works with any lens on oly
I only ever use 20 because of buffer clearance issues and if it did deal with that I just don't want that many shots to go through.

Nobody.

But it doesn't seem good business sense to keep quiet when its 'rival' is available in a few weeks time.

Pre burst (yes, I know Olympus has similar, but doesn't that only work with certain lenses?) has been just about the most valuable feature to me on the G9, and I most likely wouldn't give it up for a GH6 (unless low light performance was a vast improvement). So why, if there's not going to be a new G9, has it not been included on the GH6, but HHHR has? Is there going to be a G9 mk2, and the HHHR on the GH6 is almost a 'demo' mode - a taster of what's to come?

If there is to be a G9 m2 then Panasonic needs to at least say now, before too many jump ship to Olympus.
Actually, the opposite might be happening. However, I would love to know if an when an G10 might arrive. I am pretty sure it will, sooner than later.

I am looking forward to testing the focus limiter on the GH6 next week

There already was a G10 many years ago. It was a slightly defeatured G2. I had one. So I strongly doubt that Panasonic will reuse that name. G9 mk2 is more likely. Don't know where they will go if not that. G11? nah.

I was wondering why some folks were saying G9 mk2 as opposed to G10.
