I posted this in another thread...but I think we need a thread of our own just so we can hate all that is worthy.

I really hate it when people take pictures of their animals. I also hate it when Paul Andre or whatever his name is takes pictures of his hot girlfriend and rubs it in all of our faces. Additionally, I can't stand it when people look at a 100k jpg and think it can actually tell ANYTHING about lens quality. Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't like it much when people "say" they are "thinking" about selling their equipment on ebay when they are really just looking to get interest generated here. I despise it when people think a Mac is "the platform" to do "graphic" work on. I hate it when my wife watches Celine Deion specials on TV which in turn makes me post things like this because I'm so bored. I hate the 75-300IS lens. I hate anti-war protest pictures. Did I mention I hate it when people take pictures of their animals? I hate the French. I can't stand zoo pictures - even though I've posted them. I hated that "How to get into nude photography" thread - it taught me NOTHING. I hate photosig.com because it is sooooooooo slow and I can't search by keyword. I hate it when people spend THOUSANDS on their equipment and then complain about the cost of software to use in their workflow..you know, the software should be free dudes. I think that covers it for now.

Spit out all that hate!!!!

Cheers

Every few months the latest and greatest product (10D) is leaked out (Jeff-C) and then the message board is rendered useless untill months after the product is actually out and people just can't find anything else to b!tch about!

There's only two things you really need to fix anything, Duct Tape and WD-40. If it's supposed to move and it doesn't, use WD-40. If it moves and it's not supposed to, use Duct Tape.

I hate it when people whine that people post anti-war protests
pics...but only comment about the politics and never on the
photographs themselves...

How's this.....

(The following is tongue in cheek and nothing more.)

Those are some great historical images of some very confused individuals. The clarity of the image quality far exceeds the ability of the ungreatful ingrates to see the benefits of what they're protesting against. The excellent framing of the subject matter is not in direct proportion to the protestors misunderstanding of world politics and their warped idealistic sense of right and wrong, which is skewed when compared to the photographic perspective the images divulge. As colorful as the images are, the lack of insight to what these protestors are expecting pales compared to the color the coalition fighters are exhibiting in their efforts to squash the dictators powers. And to free up the Iraqi people from the lack of color that they have in their daily lives, shows a lack of color in the protestors thinking even though the photographic images are very colorful in nature.

All in all as a historical recording, the images portray a clarity of thought, a concept that, no matter how hard I try, I can't assign to the thinking of those the photographs were of.

Was that better? :-)

My pet peeve dating back to the D30 is people spending thousands on the camera then posting here asking, "What cheap POS lens should I put on the D30 (or D60 or 10D)? I spent all my money on the camera and only have $35 left for the lens."

I like these forums because they're a mine of information but hate that the 10D has taken it over with repeated questions..

I Like Sigma's 28-70, 15-30 and 70-200 Zooms because they offer great value for money but hate the 17-35 because it covers the best range with the best aperture at the best price but is an unreliable coke bottle..

I Like Canon's L glass because you get to use a fast lens wide open but hate the 1.6FOV Crop because it turns my expensive 16-35 Ultra wide into a mediocre midranger and that Canon were terminally stupid in making their Overpriced TCs incompatible with my 80-200L :(

I like the 75-300IS for the pics it produces but hate the zoom creep, rotating front end and crappy Micro USM.

I like the 1DS but hate the price

I like Consumer glass which performs like an L, especially the 100 Macro and the MK1 50mm F1.8 prime

I Like Fuji Provia film and their cheapo compact Digicams but hate the S2 and the crappy CDs the Frontier spits out.

I love cheap old AFD lenses like the 28-70 F3.5-4.5, 35-105 F3.5-4.5 and the 100-300L which make Cosina junk look expensive but hate trying to get decent examples..

I LOVE Rachael but hate it when she raids my bag for glass and dissappears withouth a trace just before I'm going on a shoot .. and I hate it when she borrows my 100 Macro to use as a standard prime just when I Need it --- I Blame Forrest for this !!!!!!!

Gotta film brain in a digital world!

and sometimes I just love it when I hate it.

AND.... my 10D arrives from Cameta Camera today....

I hate the wait. I love the anticipation. I hate the learning curve.

And.... I still love film.... although I hate it too.
