Camera : Sony a7 mark2.

Lenses : Vintage primes.

File : RAW .

PC : Desktop, Windows 10 home 64b. 20H2.

Photo editing software is very expensive for me. I want to save some money for buying a new Sony camera.

Have tried Raw Therapee for a few days. Seems a bit cumbersome to use.

Installed Photoscape X from Microsoft Store last night. Don't know how to start with it.

1.Does Photoscape x free version provide RAW processing abilities?

2. How or where to start editing a RAW file if it does?

Thanks.

I don't know the software you speak of but you can get CaptureOne Express for Sony for free. Might be worth checking out.

The obvious way is as col4bin has said. Use the free Capture One Express version for SONY cameras.

I'd highly recommend darktable instead. It's similar to LR, and you can find a lot more tutorials on YouTube.

I've been using it the past 6 years, mostly shooting RAW with Nikon and Fuji. It's under very active development comparing to other tools.

Thanks for the good advice. Might give it a try if nothing else of the free editors is easy for me to use.

Thank you.

Thank you. I did install Capture One Express on my PC when I purchased Sone a mark2. I hope to use a free editor which can process both ARW & CRW files since I have a Canon DSLR which I some times use for shooting moving subjects.

Appreciate.
