How long do I wait?

I need to add that I am not at all interested in Video. I had and sold the GH4 simply because I was not using the Video option...other than that, the GH4 is a wonderful camera. Any jitter or twitch in video will no doubt be dealt with through a firmware update. In the meantime, the G85 is a solid performer for a lower price than a full GH model.

Waiting for an announcement to a G85 successor only resets the current situation. G85 hardware isn't going to change, so any "updates" are via firmware which you can install. Seriously, life is too short to get obsessed with the "what if's". The improvements are incremental, many too small to actually realize. Start enjoying the hobby!

Thanks Wasabi, but you missed the previous posts and maybe the point of this thread. I currently have the G7, which I enjoy, but I like the new shutter, IBIS and the removal of the AA filter in the G85. All of these have significant value for my type of shooting. The only other improvement I'm looking for is 12-bit Raw; not sure if I should upgrade to the G85 or wait for its successor. This forum is casual conversation, not obsession (hopefully). I do enjoy the hobby and have since the 1960s. I hope you are enjoying it as well!
