How far can Firmware go....

Well considering 50d and 500d share same sensor and same processor,
50d should be able to do video with a firmware update... they wont
tough...

djeez ... someone plse explain to me how all these noobs got/get hold of the Canon electronics blueprints of all camera cicuitry including the code for the firmware and the code alterations to make to enable their chimeric new of not-activated features ?
Indeed blah blah about absolutely nothing !
