Waiting for the train at an underground Metro station in Washington D.C. The low light conditions are a challange to getting a decent picture. I keep trying to get a usable picture of a train at the station.

Have fun. Flip

Good afternoon Flip,

This one is not bad at all. I like the geometry. Will they let you take a tripod down there?

Hello Flip,

I really like this image. It gives me a strong sense of being in the station waiting for the train. NYC stations are not as nice.

Happy new year,

Hi Flip, Really nice shot. I like the perspective of the lines. Thanks.
with respect,
Larry

Flip,

Even without a train, this is a very good photo. The shapes and perspective lines are very interesting, and the anonymous person adds a lot.

Thanks Hugh. I've seen people carring tripods on their way to D.C. My problem is I'm usually on my way to work or elsewhere when I decide to take a picture. I've never gone down to the Metro just to take a picture and until I do, I guess I really can't complain about the results. Flip

Thanks Stan. I wish I could find a way to compensate for the bright information signs. If I adjust for the low light, the information signs appear blurred. I toned them down and sharpened some in PS, but they still aren't as clear as I would like them to be. Flip

Thanks Adrienne. I included the "paying customer" as a size reference for the viewers eye. She also adds a human touch to the cold concrete world below the city. Flip

Hi Flip,

I think you did a fine job on this one.

The pattern in the station's construction are very interesting and the exposure seems to be OK too.

Thanks Rick. Even though I ride the Metro every day I'm still in awe of the design and beauty. Flip

Thanks Jacques. What's really interesting is the rectangles in the ceiling actually have a practical side, the hide the ventilator shafts.

Thanks Arjan. It was the last shot of the day. I was on my way home after spending the afternoon in Washington D. C. playing tourist. Flip
Excellent shot! The perspective in this one is great. Thanks for
sharing.
