HELP - Who prints and mounts on foam core?

it's the photo that ends up upsampled. When I bring it into the layout program it comes in as 305 dpi but is not big enough, so I have to upsample within the layout program. The photo ended up (in this case) at 83dpi, so when I exported out to .jpg and had to choose a dpi, I set it to 300. The text is nice and crisp because it goes out with a native res of 300dpi, but the photo is upsampled to match.

was that sharpening needs to be done AFTER the upsampling, and WHCC will not sharpen. Ergo if you want your images sharpened upsample it yourself, then sharpen it. But I have done it how you suggest Shay - with a normally edited and sharpened images but not upsampled - and they came out great - at 12x18 anyway. I ordered a 30x40 today - that is why I was asking - It is so big I wanted to do it just how whcc wanted - I talked to 2 different people and both said the same thing - they wanted me to do the upsampling. I'm not arguing with you - I know it works both ways - but if you want the sharpening - or additional sharpening - done after the upsampling - it won't happen if you let them do it. Unfortunately I won't get to see this print as it is going directly to the purchaser - I don't like to do it that way but they are in a hurry. :( It would be an interesting exercise to try both methods and see if a difference is noticeable for the same image.

they will do services for you at extra cost, don't know if that includes what the two of you are talking about or not. I'd rather maintain full control, or as much as possible over everything I submit, even though they may actually do some of it better.
