I noticed that when I turn my camera in different directions I feel and hear something moving around a very little bit. I think it is the lens that pops out of the camera when it is turned on, I came to this conclusion because when the camera is on you can move the lens that pops out of the camera from side to side and up and down a little bit, any one else have this same problem. Is this normal?

the "direction" sensor clicking ?

it is a little sensor switch that tells the camera into which direction you are holding the camera ... it allows the firmware to tell the exif if the picture was taken in portrait or in landscape mode.
Dunno if all cameras still have it these days ..

I had this clicking sound on my Video Camera, and it was normal, i also have it on my H5 and i think its somthing in the lens when the cam is turned off, dont worry about it.

As far as I can imagine what you are talking about, it isn't a problem. The pop-up lense has got marginal play. If you touch the pop-out lense with your hand you can feel the lense move around a bit but it is normal. Mine also does so and I am sure everybody elses H5 does so.

my H2 does it also. the noise is more pronounced when the lens is extended.

The noise is generated by the AF system trying to refocus the lens as you move the camera.

If the lens has some play that is normal too and won't affect the image, as the sensor is attached directly to the lens making it one assembly unit.

My H5 and Panasonic FZ50 both are doing that - i was worried at first, but now i just disregard that

try to put the AF mode to "single" and see if same thing happens...

or slowly move the camera so the view will change from far to close object without shaking it... if its somth mechanical its not supposed to make noise but AF will ...

I too was/am getting a strange sort of clicking noise when I move about. I was relieved to discover that it is only a poor fitting lens hood that clicks about ever so slightly loose---is yours the same thing???
