Thanks for the reply. This place can be a tough audience sometimes.3
True enough. I thought about building a Carbon Fiber cover for it, but in the end just decided to use it as is. That grip is functional as its a place to store the wifi component. I would have been ok if the camera's thickness was increased to the size of the grip so that the front could remain smooth and flat, and an external grip could be added for those that needed it.

Look at the Leica versions of the the lumix point and shoot range finders and you will see what can be done (Leica DLux vs the LX100).
Very interesting undertaking! I also like the D-Lux styling over Panasonic, and I can appreciate your effort here. Would also be curious to see how the process looked/looks. Bravo for daring to do something radical!

You can hope Olympus throws the dice one more time, but Panasonic won’t. They’ve made long term investments in FF that pretty much tell you what product strategy is ahead
So how do you explain the 200 f/2.8 then? Or the 10-25 f/1.7? Their video product will drive m4/3 for sure, but it's not too difficult to spin off stills models from that. The G9 is the perfect example of that. A slightly different body shell, trim a few features, bingo. Too many prophets of doom. How many people have ever heard of a Toughbook, let alone used one? Yet Panasonic have been happily chugging along producing them since 1996, in an extremely crowded & price competitive market. I think it's more likely we'll see premium or higher end models than lower tier ones. Just how I see it anyway
