For anyone who is interested:

Jimmy McIntyre, the developer of Raya Pro and Lumi32, has just released a very comprehensive written guide to creating and using luminosity masks. It's free and is available at

https://www.shutterevolve.com/essential-luminosity-masks-guide-for-beginners/

The guide contains a link for anyone who wants to buy Raya Pro of course, but it also contains links to his free Easy Panel tool as well as his free two hour Beginner's Photoshop Course.

Raya Pro and Easy Panel only work with Photoshop, but the guide is a wonderful resource for anyone working with luminosity masks or for anyone who just wants to know more about what luminosity masks are and what they can do.

Enjoy,
Peter

Thanks!

From that article :

Do luminosity masks work in Lightroom? No, just Photoshop and other similar image processors.

Has he forgotten that Range mask can make Luminosity mask ?
Do you mean Color Range in PS? Not likely that he has forgotten it at all.

Thanks for this link! It is good to see that Jimmy's videos now (mostly) have CC (closed captioning) for those of us who need it.

When you said "...and other similar image processors.", which image processors other than Adobe were your referring to? Thanks in advance!

I didn't write it. Jimmy Mcintyre wrote it. My respond was " has he forgotten that Range mask in ACR/lightroom can do it ? "

I guess he refer to pixel editors like Gimp. RAW editors like Exposure X5 can do advanced Luminosty mask as well.

Thanks for the clarification... HAGD :-)
