There were rumours of a new Allard being built in Montreal, Canada. Retro look with modern updates hardware and tyres.

No spinners ! it has the r/w/b center dome.. and I looked it up when I didn't know myself :)

auggh! I should have known that. There was a rotting one I used to walk by every day that sat next to a 64 starfire I really liked ..

ya .. the barracuda had fins that reminded me of the ones on that car although they were straight not reversed .. the SW I was thinking of was a neuport wagon. that I though only went one year but it could be this car I'm mixing it up with.

'61 Dodge Dart Pioneer to be exact (it was the Pioneer badge I cloned out). I kinda like this view of it though, but as Stv says, the rest of it's an acquired taste at best. And they actually had to revise them during the year and add extra lights at the rear, because the ones they came with were deemed too low and small. They went through several years of complete restyles each model year, because nobody liked 'em (I guess this was in the days before focus groups and such...)

I didn't understand your subject heading Stv, when you wrote:

"Re: I believe 50, FoMoCo to be correct.............." FoMoCo is just an abbreviation for Ford Motor Company, as you're perhaps aware, but were you suggesting that there was more to it? The car shown is, as Shercando said, a 1950 Ford (often referred to as the "single spinner" for the distinctive grille), but I believe the particular model is the "Custom Crestliner".

I am NOT sure if the auto pictured is a 1949 or 1950, as I have great difficulty remembering how to distinguish between the two years and I didn't photo the grille either.

It was just a subject-line tag, that's all. There is no confusion on my part, that is the acronym for the name of Ford Motor Company, not to be further confused with FORD; "F-ix O-r R-epair D-aily".

If the Shercondo says it's a 1950 Custom Crestliner, so be it, as I would "believe" that answer to be correct as I don't wonder through the car shows pen and paper in hand documenting each photograph for year make and model etc. after taking a picture. (However a voice "notebook" button would be a very handy feature that I mentioned for the next A700 replacement camera in an earlier post. That "goofy" suggestion went ignored, understandably, as I guess I'm the only person who could use such a feature!....LOL )

I'm just a camera enthusiast who happens to take the odd photograph of cars, not the other way around.

Cheers, ..... Stv
