G7 Significant Shutter Lag

Maybe I did not make myself clear, it was the a710IS that was the lemon, not the G7. It turned out to be a good thing because I got the G7 instead. The G7 is fantastic. Go try one instead of reading negative posts from those who do not own this camera.

Thanks for clarifying. Glad you like the G7!

Actually, I've read very few posts about the G7.

I thought I might be interested in it but I am absolutely not. My next camera, which I plan to purchase within a year, will be more like a Pro1, a replacement for both my Nikon 5400 and S2.

Whether Canon produces another high end non-dslr prosumer camera with a sharp, fast lens, etc remains to be seen. If another company delivers the goods, I'll buy that one.

I think the G7 is a fine camera. However as an outside observer, never having owned a G, I do understand G owners lament.

For example, each successor to the S1 offers improvements and refinements. Important features on the S1 were not dropped on the S2 & S3, just made better.

Again, I think the G7 is an lovely, advanced digital camera. It simply lacks a few important features that first got me thinking about owning a G series camera. I'll sit this one out.
