Also, you can actually have more than one mouse plugged in at a time using a mix of PS/2 and USB mice, and they'll both work!

It was a gift from someone who is occasionally is a visitor to my
house. I guess I could change it for my other mouse when she
wasn't visiting, but it's a hassle dragging the CPU and all of the
scrambled wires out to change it.

I saw that same mouse, or a similar one, in a catalog a while ago, and thought to myself that that would be really cool if it was optical and had a scroll wheel.

You can always use a USB or PS/2 extention cord, or a USB hub, to connect your mouse so you can easilly switch to another mouse without having to go behind the computer.

Or if one is USB, and one is PS/2 you can connect them both at the same time. You might even be able to connect two USB mice at the same time, but I haven't tried that.

Just get a PS/2 extension cord for a few dollars, and you can swap mice by unplugging them from the PS/2 extension cord instead of reaching behind your computer. My mouse is connected to a PS/2 extension cord because it wouldn't reach my CPU otherwise. My keyboard is connected to a USB extension cord.

But these are both PS/2s.
