Flickr users?

Flickr is all about sharing, and building a contacts network. This takes a lot of time, and requires a lot of constant presence.

I like the sharing bit, but the presentation and layout are bad, and the addition of video plus the emergence of stupid groups is taking the fun of it away i think.

I don't like flickr anymore, although it has provided me with numerous sales opportunities. I prefer the layout and useablity of zenfolio.

For me, flickr = youtube now, full stop. A lot of cr@p, and some really good stuff. Difficult to find your way through it though, and too much time in front of the computer.

Some of the Forums on Flickr are great. These are some I'm involved in:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/olympusesystem/
http://www.flickr.com/groups/adobe_lightroom/
http://www.flickr.com/groups/om_four_thirds_adapter/
http://www.flickr.com/groups/sigmafourthirds/

Other sharing sites are better for critique or optimising the look of your gallery, but Flickr is the best I've tried as a combination for images and social interaction. Worth taking the time to built a SELECTIVE contact list, however. I don't see the point of having gazillions.
