First print with canvas and GOframe

Today I did my very first canvas print on my PRO-4600. I was using Breathing Color Crystalline Gloss Canvas on a 17" x 10' trial roll (although I did already order a 36" x 40' roll of LexJet Elements Crystal Opal Gloss Canvas). There were a couple of issues (both my fault) but they were minor, and part of the learning process.

The first print I made I forgot to add a gallery wrap. The canvas was the correct size for wrapping, but since I didn't add a gallery wrap with ON1 Photo Raw, it meant that once wrapped, too much of the photo would be on the side of the frame.

The other issue is that the first GOframe stretcher bar I was working with, I accidentally pulled the double-sided adhesive right off the bar rather than removing the protective plastic from the adhesive (oops!).

But once I got past those two issues, the wrapping process went very smoothly. The GOframe stretchers are definitely easy, require no tools (other than a utility knife), and the end result looks great. I'm just a hobbyist photographer, but I definitely see more canvas prints in my future. Overall - a very satisfying experience.

I reviewed this in 2016...

What reminded me, was that we just moved home and this print, which has been in the kitchen and other places in the house was [after a good clean!] moved to the new house.

Yup - I read that review (and watched several of your canvas printing videos) before deciding to dive into the canvas pool. But what really put me over the top was your video of the Cannon Beach panorama that you printed on glossy canvas. I *really* liked the look of that (both the content, and the resulting print), and it's what got me researching glossy canvas.

And bonus points that Cannon Beach is only about a 90-minute drive from where I live. In fact (assuming the weather cooperates) I'm planning another photo trip there next week.

Thanks much for all the videos you do, Keith. I find them very useful.

Thanks - just working on getting that big print to a new wall, now we've moved!

That one was printed on an Innova glossy canvas.

Hope the weather works for you!

Canvas is fun- I would highly recommend that you varnish your prints for UV and scuff protection, as the surface is really fragile when un-coated. Breathing Color "Timeless" has been my go-to for years, and if you use their roller kit, it goes on easily and dries quickly. One coat will do the job.

Unfortunately, they have stopped selling in the US due to tariffs, though Lexjet has some supplies.

I called LexJet about that last week, and they said they are continually getting in new stock, and that it's one of their most popular products.
