Glad you apprecate what I was saying about using other (cheaper) flash units as slaves! This will also stand you in good stead for using studio strobes where the same techniques apply.
One vital piece of info that many new to the intelligent flash system are not aware of, this is not a radio based system but works by the commander flash (which can also be the D70, D80, D200 D2X) transmitting data to the remote units digitally using high speed flashes of light. All the data is sent as a set of light pulses.
This is a new system developed by Nikon! The SU-4 mode is great to have for the non-intelligent flash units and strobes! It is also good as some subjects are put off by all the pre-flash light pulses, SU-4 is just one flash of light!
