File types used - specific situation

If I did move away from Adobe I wouldn't need to. The catalogue and all the years of edits will be maintained forever. I could export which ever files I wanted for the rest of my life. In fact I could still continue to use the catalogue system as a DAM. I could import developed files after using a different developer.
Zeee and I are on the same page, but he is obviously a faster typer!

These days I'm using LrC v14. It has become so advanced I have not sent a file to PS since LrC v11. I have never saved any exported files from event shooting. I just keep the original RAW and the edits will be there forever. I can export them in any format. Even if I stopped using LrC I'd still have access to all my edited files. Made my life much easier.
This is central to what I’m asking. I do not want to be tied to one editor/defeloper (like Lightroom or anything else). So, in my first move away from Lightroom, it was simple …. I already had the TIFs.

if you were, hypothetically, wanting to move away from LRC right now (or at some point in the future), you would export all of your edited RAWs …. My question is: ‘what would you export them to? TIFs? JPGs? PNG?, HEIC? Something else? And, why would you pick the file structure?”
I see no reason to do a mass export.

If I were to decide to use another editor, my plan would be to keep the expired version of Lightroom to export/view my existing library as needed and use the new editor on my new files going forward. The only important thing that stops working when your Lightroom subscription ends is the Develop module.
The map module is disabled as well which for me does not matter. There is are a few quick develop options on the import page but very basic.

You also get 2GB of cloud storage for life.
I do not see any compelling reason to switch in the near future. LrC has become almost magical.
I’ll only drop Adobe if they tick me off. Besides that non destructive Denoise AI is now available with ACR. It will be coming to LrC. I can hardly wait for that. Currently using LrC it creates a new DNG. Same Denoise process but in ACR it remains a RAW file and you can fine tune the amount whenever you like.

Here is the library module that you also view in Loupe view for individual files. The catalogue (which is separate from the files) is a database that keeps records of all your adjustments forever. I can export all these files (some developed, some not), a group or one file whenever I want to.

Dropping Adobe would disable the Develop module. As you can see there is a Quick Develop section which does not amount to much. Shows all the metadata. I'd have access to the Library page and all the years of work forever.

Folder structure on the left. Note: That is not a separate folder structure. LrC does not do that. It mirrors however you decide to set it up. If I opened the OS, Canon's DPP, DXO PL, C1, etc I'd see the same folder structure.

The only reason you need to import into LrC is so it can read the files metadata and it knows where the files are stored, which is your choice.

If you ever decide to get it I have a great video link for that. Taking the time to get good start is important. After that it is simple. I never even think about the catalogue unless I'm chatting about it on forums.I've been using it since 2011 and with all the years of updates, which included catalogue upgrades and never a single issue.
