F700 Samples

I thought the 410 pics were overall better quality than the 700's.
Maybe the 310 will be a nice surprise with the HR ccd.
Fuji is composing shots with a lot of contrast (lady with white/black dress, ladie next to the sun hitting a wall, but on the shadow side, etc.

These shots seem to be, imho, more trying than the 410's ones.. but of course, FUJI would really have helped show the difference if they took the same photos with both cameras.. I guess they don't want to show "bad 410 photos" at any time.... must be a marketing thing...

PS: Or of course, the F700 doesn't delivery on any promise for increased dynamic range, but I REALLY DOUBT IT.

check out the 410 picture of the lady in the sun -
that would be picture #2 left-> right on the first row,
vs say F700 #2 or #4 on the first row...

The F700 seems to hold the colors better even in the higher contrast.... I am particularly impressed a bit by the green clothing (#2, first row) shot because the green has contrast/intensity range and the hose with the white came out good + the face tones are good....

It would have been far better if Fuji just shot with the 410 the same shots for a true comparison but oh well... I certainly want to see reviews..

One thing that I did notice though: the F700 has less noise than the 410

Yes, even if the F700 can capture greater dynamic range, Fuji would still not be able to flaunt pictures of greater quality than has been produced by other cameras. Every camera manufacturer post sample pictures that were taken at near optimal lighting conditions to show off what their cameras can do. At these optimal conditions, the F700 would not be able to produce a picture that was significantly better. In more difficult lighting conditions, the F700 may produce better images than other cameras, but the images would still be worse than images taken in optimal lighting conditions by other cameras.

In the real word of point and shoot, lighting is rarely optimal, so increased dynamic range could make a difference.

OK, I just convinced myself that we shouldn't give up the F700 just yet!
