I have just bought a F30 after reading comments in this forum. So far I am very pleased with it. I previously had a F601Zoom.
When I review the pics in the camera I can see the EXIF Data.

Once the pics are dowloaded on to my PC and erased from the camera how can I find the EXIF data on the stored pics?

Opanda is what I use. It has been very helpful to see what settings others on here are using to get their great shots. Once you download opanda you just right click on an image and the exif comes up. (if it did not get stripped in PP or hosting)

Get what makes you happy
Anything less... makes you less happy

For basic exif shooting information ,in windows you can right click on an image and select Properties summary / advanced.Or if you view images as a film strip just hover pointer over an image and shooting information is displayed

Tony

Anotherv one I'd never be without - had it on a number of machines over the years .. Exif InfoTip. Install it and then when you open Win Explorer to any folder where you have images, just simply hang your cursor over a filename and up pops a little box with the main settings and details of that pic. Once used - you wonder how you did without it . Scroll down to about page 2 or so to find it - NOT the first ..

Out of curiousity. Do you still have your F601z? Is it still functional? Or is the battery giving you problems?

You do know that camera's pictures also contain EXIF data, right?

I agree with GAREB,

I have been using Exifer for several years. it's very flexable and it's free.

There have been no updates for a while but is still the best I have seen.

Do any of these offer the information in column form when displaying a list of pictures? Sort of like a spreadsheet where you can see the EXIF info for all your pictures at once? That's what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Both EXIFER and Opanda IExif 2.26 do, you open the folder with the photos, and in the preview widow, there are the photos and the exif data in a column at the side of the photo Opanda strength is it also allows you to view the exif data of photos posted on forums like this one.

Firefox also has an EXIF viewer plug in.
Works well within the browser.

In god we trust, all others are suspects

I had my F601Z until late December after Christmas when it was stolen.

The canera was working fine and I got some great 8 x 10 pics from it. I had no problem with the battery.
I felt that a good replacement for the F601Z would be the F30.

I think they are comparable in terms of features yes. Although you'll find the 30fps much better then the 15fps in movie mode. I still have my F601z, but I also have a S5500. The movies are much smoother now.

From what I've seen, the menu system is much more usable (it looks like the one on my S5500). No more circular menu system :)

I don't think any other cameras provide the memo\sound recorder feature like the F601z has. I find that usefull from time to time. All in all, I think you've got a pretty nice upgrade with the F30! Have fun with it!

Right click on the image, and go to properties.

Click on details.

If you cannot see anything, or have a series of (approx 8) forms, you will need to press the "Advanced" button.

This is if you have saved to a .jpg file.

If you have saved your file as a RAW (.RAF) file, you will need to get a program like Photoshop (or fine an EXIF reader online) to find out your EXIF data.

I hope this helps mate!

Dale.
