ex-z750 autofocus problem

I recently picked up an ex-z750, but the AF doesn't work unless you first zoom in and then out again. I've read that there are all sorts of lens issues with this camera; does anybody know if there is an easy fix?

Maybe: Under menu/Rec/ check that Quick Shutter is set to OFF.
If that doesn't help, then the camera is likely busticated.

yes i had the same problem i had it sent away and new lens fitted no problems since
