Elements 2 question

Can a person using elements 2 create an album? Any help would be appreciated.

PS 6 uses: File> Automate> Picture Package. Is there any way to have different photos or only a package of just one photo? I can't seem to have several photos using this Automate function in the package (template). Any advice appreciated.

Not according to the book. I'm using 7.01 and I've heard that picture package has improved in Photoshop 7.

You can specify that the layers aren't flattened but you'd need to make them selections to replace the images and keep the placement.

What I've always found easiest was to make templates with specific sized selections so you can drop images in as needed. Set up a grid and draw with the rectangle selection tool. Then save the selection with a specific name so you can load it when you're ready to insert a new image. Each template shouldn't take more than 15 minutes or so. But first plan it out on paper. Use pixels as the unit of measurement for more accurate positioning. Then using the move tool and the arrow keys (which allow moving a selection one pixel at a time), position your images.

On the D1 forum they're saying good things about Qimage Pro which is a printing program, but I've never looked at it so I don't know if it can do packages with different images:

Thanks for your comments. That's what I've been doing up till now. I was hoping that when I moved up to PS 6, it would be automated. I've tried the demo 30 day version of Qimage Pro but I'm not as thrilled with it as most people seem to be since I don't feel it gives you the amount of control that PS does for printing. It wants to control all the input and output parameters. I will give it another try, however.

It's not that I'm recommending it because I've never tried it. But is seems to be a bargain for a $35 program compared to Photoshop at $600.

But how difficult would it be for someone to design a series of templates with active layers (at 300 pixels per inch) and make them available for purchase on CD.
