Dumb question - What is an "organic sensor"?

So when can we expect the first camera with a sensor like that?

I keep reading about the development of an organic sensor and have no clue what that means. If I had such a sensor, would it need to be fed and walked every day?

Just joking.... but I would like to understand the concept. Thanks in advance.
Its a sesor which Fuji claims to have 1.2 times higher sensitivity given Fuji's current ISO rating this sensor should bring their figures back to reality

if it ever sees the light of day

"1.2 times higher sensitivity" is certainly not earth shattering.

The press release says "... 1.2 times more sensitive than conventional sensors...", which is a way of describing things that has always confused me.

Strictly speaking, "1.2 times more" means x + 1.2x = 2.2x, which would be a sizable increase in sensitivity. But normally, people in science and engineering don't get much excited until there is a difference of at least an order of magnitude.

But the phrase is often used incorrectly as simply meaning 1.2x, which would be a 20% increase.

Which is it going to be?

Hopefully, X-Pro2 will have an organic sensor.

Better dynamic range is on top of my wish list.

Having followed and enjoyed your threads for quite a time, the answer is easy: YES, you have to walk and exercise the camera every day.

--great link. Now I have some understanding. sounds great.

If its like food, it means you can charge 4x more for it and get hipsters to buy it because it is better for you.
