DPR Glossary revisions

On the other hand, perhaps Amazon, prefers the confusion propagated by the current Glossary as a stimulant for endless forum arguments about sensor size/performance, equivalence, noise, ad nauseam.
Heh! I'm pretty certain that they'd love to see discussions move on to other topics. ;-)
And you'd be right with that certainty.

We are aware our Glossary is out-of-date and not as precise as it should be. There is a project underway to replace it, but there are a lot of more pressing things to be done, before we'll be able to finish it.

An added complication is that the Glossary was prepared by someone outside DPReview so, as far as I know, we can't simply dip in and amend the text.

The idea that any Amazon employee outside the DPReview staff has any opinions or strategic interest in the Glossary is fascinating, though.

And that's why you created the Off Topic forum. :-D

Indeed. Just rewrite it from the start. You and Rishi are doing a fantastic job.

Don't try to deny it. It's part of your strategic plan to take over the world -- I've seen the memos.

Agree! Just do it. Please.

OR

Encourage folks like GB, Gollywop, et al to take it on. Make it prominent in the context menus. Use it as an authority to give proper meaning to words like Exposure, Brightening, Equivalence, Noise etc.

I agree completely, but I believe this forum is not the best place to get their attention. Maybe you should post in the site feedback forum?
I don't think that DPR has the leadership to invite folks to review/revise their aging (decade?) DPR Glossary
its being worked on now... the reason it's hidden is that we know its out of date. It was written by Phil and 123di over a decade ago.
. Rather, I suspect that the initiative has to come from the helpful folks who contribute to this forum (and others) with corrections and authoritative posts
as I said, it is being completely overhauled. As I understand it's probably 80% done.
