Does De-Noise remove/change the EXIF?

I read about the Topas AI De-Noise program (in an astronomical magazine), and now think about that it might be fun to get the program.

Would the program used standalone in some way change or even remove the existing EXIF data in my JPEG pictures? Any experience by anybody.

(My normal JPEG post processing program is Paintshop Pro 2015)

I don't know.

I tried an experiment: the capture date wasn't altered.

However. Denoise AI is no longer available for sale. The last update for it was released in June of 2023.

Topaz is pretty good about that - better than Adobe anyway. They also have options to retain the same JPEG quality and chroma settings.

Here are diffs with 3.7.2 Denoise. Maybe someday I will buy PhotoAI.

That's nice.

But Denoise AI is no longer available for purchase, as far as I know. Topaz stopped issuing updates for it more than a year ago.

Photo AI is their main current photo product. It has more capabilities than Denoise, and it costs more.

(They seem to be keeping a version of Gigapixel AI around. Surprising.)

I did a test using a random, untouched JPEG, and then the same image file processed with Topaz DeNoise AI.

For each file, IrfanView shows the same number of entries in the EXIF (91), and the content of the entries appears to be identical.

In my experience the EXIF data remains. However, I know if you have a program that adds in stuff like Keywords then that data will not be retained.

I have modified my workflow to add keywords after returning from Topaz.

Thanks,

no the PSP 2015 isn't adding in anything as far as I have noticed.
