Just out of curiosity I am trying to understand the directory structure of Fuji memory cards. I see 4 directories:
  1. DCIM: This of course is the main folder where photos and videos are stored. It stands for “Digital Camera Images” and AFAIK is standard for all digicams.
  2. FFDB: I think this stands for "Fuji Film Database: and suspect it caches thumbnails for in camera display and stuff like this.
  3. UPD: I think this is used to store firmware update files if downloaded via the X-app (and it will be present only on slot 1, and empty post update)
  4. ACTIVITY: I suspect that this contains some log files, but only for shots using the X-app as a remote. If you display activity in X-app it will run off this directory. IMHO it would be a lot more interesting if the camera would write this for every shot.
If you have more/better info or an a official source please chime in.

Thanks! - Red

I've never seen ACTIVITY - but presumably something to do with the new XApp Activity function that I haven't used.

DCIM has been around for decades and holds media files. It is part of the industry standard Design Rule for Camera File System (DCF) which also defines the subdirectories and the media file names.

FFDB is used for the Transfer Image to Smartphone feature in the Playback menu. When in use it has two files FFXFER.DAT which stores the directory/file names and also a Sqlite database (file with suffix db) which is used to keep track of the transfer.
