I have a Celstron Ultimate 100 that I have been using with an old Canon Rebel dslr for digiscoping, The camera attaches directly to the scope’s eyepiece using Celestron’s t-ring, so the scope becomes the camera’s prime lens. One drawback is that I lose the AF function because the camera now becomes manual focus and getting sharp picture quality focus using the scope is hit and miss to say the least. I want to update to a mirrorless camera, partly because they have a function called focus peaking that helps you focus on objects in manual mode. My question is, will focus peaking still function when using the scope as a prime lens? I’m assuming it would because I’ve read on other forums that you can attach a vintage manual lens to mirrorless cameras and still use focus peaking. But I’d like to get some feedback from anyone who has actually digiscoped with a mirrorless camera attached directly to a scope’s eyepiece. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
