Daniel Craig --- too good to be true??

I just wandered in to this thread. It is so unproductive, that I thought I would bump it just to keep up with the gossip. We all must have too much time on our hands to waste it doing this rather than producing photographic images?

Bill
Jeff,

you are absolutely right. My comments were out of place.

There definitely is an amusing side in this Daniel - even if he is
so UGLY ;PPPP

Just curious-- how many of you would have agreed with me in doubting the authenticity of Dan's head shot? Should I reinstate the challenge to him to prove this? I was thinking, just because he posted that photo on his 'web site' does neccesarily mean that's his picture. Maybe I was premature to let him off the hook on that.
I have a hypothesis: Dan may not be all he appears to be.
I may very well be wrong about this, but I am willing to put up the
challenge and see how Dan responds:

Dan, today or tomorrow, purchase a USA Today newspaper. Then setup
your wonderful S30 camera to take a photo the front page directly
below or beside your face, zoomed in to clearly show the headline
of the newspaper with your unique face. Also, please wear
different clothes than your other photo. Then post the photo here.
At least then I will know you are not misrepresenting your
appearance and this will give you a little creditbility in my book.
I know you do not care what I think so don't bother telling me.
I do not expect you will oblige me and perform this request. If
cost is an issue, I will send you the $1.

But then... some would rather be a dull picture-taking boy/girl... :p

(Oh, well, I've wasted Phil's disk space just by doing this...)

Just curious-- how many of you would have agreed with me in
doubting the authenticity of Dan's head shot? Should
...You can count me.

...I still cannot believe this guy is serious (come on, judge a camera on the fact that the tripod mount is centered ? Have you also seen his "special effects" for the chess games on his site ?).

To me, he's joking at 4th degree.

What I love, is that he is JUST playing on the edge... some people think he is serious, some others don't. (Well, I don't). Just like his photograph : it is "just" a bit odd so that you wonder whether it's real or not... could be, could be not...

Mr Craig, I've had a great time with your posts.

One of the reasons, its hard to figure out the "cheap" camera might be because the original photographs are so manipulated, that whatever qualities the camera had in the shot is diluted terribly.
By the way, I'm in the process right now of fixing it--it is 2:25
est it will be repaired by 3:30 for sure.

And I did put one pic in that was done by my "cheap" camera.
Though I doubt that you'll be able to figure out which one.

Just to clarify, I think he IS serious about what he says, although I don't take him seriously, especially after I saw his website.

As for his picture, if he put up a fake one, of all the pictures in the world, why one earth would he put up that one? In Dan's own words: 'I saw, and I wept'.

And for the record, I didn't lose any sleep over it either :)

If you are proud of your web design, that is a personal thing for
yourself. Until you can appreciate the work that 12-yr olds are
doing (such as my daughter and all her friends) with designing web
pages -
And they are most likely a lot more mature than this troller.
you would keep that boast to yourself. Where is your
computer degree from? If you have one, your professor would be
ashamed of what you produce.
What professor would ever confess to having taught this person?? Please!!
If you find your photos interesting, is there anything else that
matters? No one else's opinion should matter. Its just not our
cup of tea. No one says that we have to like everything that is
considered photography -- accept that you will not get the
expression of approval here and move on. Abandon this thread.
Something his mommy should have told him a long long time ago.
I wondr why no one has
commented on my web design, ie, my rollover buttons--my leaf
design--and so forth? Well, I would think that were I to add on
another album--that quite a few people here would go to see if for
the mere purpose to see what I have created next--not for just some
day to day ho-hum shot. At least my pictures--most of them--are
not boring people with realism.

Keep on shooting!

it's hard to say, on the one hand, i don't want to see another picture of him.

on the other, it's his chance to show us he can take a real picture.

of course he'll state that he has nothing to prove, and like's to remain modest of his "work".

i'm really supprised, if that trully is him (i'll assume it is, some how it fits his personality problem), that he took such a bad picture of himself. i'm not calling him ugly or anything, people look different, that's all there is too it. but come on, that was a terrible picture of anybody! i've seen better pictures taken at the DMV.

i know he doesn't want to spend the buck, neither would i. how ever, he does have pictures of his mother. so maybe he should get a shot of him and his mother together. it's much harder to doctor that (provided he doesn't run it through the image mill). he at least 2 shots - and i'm not sure why he would put someone elses photo there. - i think it's the best way.

i agree, i think he is truelly serious. i doubt he's a teacher of any kind, my spelling is pretty bad, and i openly admit it, but his is a bit worse. not to mention the fact that he can't get his facts lined up right, and can't get his point accross. i feel sorry for the students.

he's more like a child with a new shiny toy truck. my toy is better then yours. look it's shiney, it has four, count them, four wheels. it rolls faster then any other truck here, and so on and so forth.

his posts started out insulting, then little by little, went to the s30 is boss thing. and when confronted with fact, backed and then the thread weakend. and then weakend, and then weakend to the point of name calling. he called himself Guest on my site, and filled some nasty little thing about flowers. i took it out, it's not needed.

overall, he's a loser.

i still won't forget when Wolfgang posted his picture of the race car driver. danny boy said that while the picture was loading, he was ready to make fun of the name wolfgang... he never heard of that name, and was going to make fun of that.... luckily it was a good picture, so he couldn't even do that.....

his little world is starting to crumble. and soon we'll here about some other new toy he got and how much better it is then everyone eles... if anything it's kind of fun watching him run around covering himself... i wonder if he fixed that pigeon yet... :)

Mike! Your website looks terrific!!

I am a "bottom of the foodchain" beginner and I love this forum. I read it everyday to learn new things. Having a hard time figuring out what I am learning from this thread. I guess it will be better for me to keep my opinions to myself- you know the old " if you can't say some thing nice.....".

Jeff_C your pictures are OK--but I took some amazing night shots--that I didn't save--though I thought I did--when getting my computer repaired. Of course, I'm not going to be on the hunt for extremely well lit areas such as you did. But I do love the S30's abilities on night shots--which surpasses anything that the S40 and G2 can do. I might try my favorite night shot that I lost--tonight. But there is a possibility that I won't be able to match it--things have changed a bit since then with the weather getting nice. But I will try nonetheless. til then

Your posts. Mike, are beginning to sound more funnier than mine. Keep up the good work!!!!
