D7 included NIMH??? Did I get jipped?

You are all lucky boys ;-)). Just received my D7 with ... AA
batteries. Had to buy separatly the charger and the 1700 mAh. Have
seen in a french magazine that 2000 mAh are available. Can somebody
tell me the difference in time comparative to 1700 mAh ore less ??
What about the expensive EBP-100 (lithium) battery. Seems
that it gives a 5 days ' life' to the camera.
And what about the price. In Belgium the D7 is sold 1.320$ ;-(
(with aa batteries)
Denis, I guess by 'AA batteries' you mean alkaline betteries. 'AA' just shows the siza of the betteries rather than the size. The D7 does indeed take AA batteries, but these may vary like Lithium batteries, NiCd rechargable, NiMH rechargable etc.

The best economic/efficient combination are the rechargable NiMH cells, with a good charger.--Pablettowww.pbase.com/pabletto(samples taken with the MINOLTA DiMAGE 7)Last update 21 February 2002 (3 new galleries added)

Dtto: Mine came from Norman camera with 4-1300s. And a slow charger, which I use for my portable radio. The camera is unbelievable and I bought the Ray-O-Vac 1hr with 4 individually controlled and monitored charging circuits and 3 sets of GP1800 NiMH. I am very satisfied. I find I get great pictures running thru DIVU but morre accurate colors by adjusting contrast, brightness, adjusting the tone curves (mainly auto) and sharpness. Good pictures are what it is all about for me. Everything else is unimportant to me.
When I got my D7 two weeks ago....I noticed the batteries that came
with it were 1300 mah. I didn't think alot of it...but now I'm
reading reports that alot of people are getting 1500 or 1600 mah
batteries with their D7.

Is this the standard? It's not a real big deal...I can use them in
the flash...because I won't even bother using the 1300's in the
camera....but 1500 or 1600 mah's would be more useful....

Just curious...what did everyone here get?

I got my camera a few weeks ago, but it was "used" on eBay. The previous owner was allegedly selling it due to a divorce, but I'm not quite buying that. Regardless, the box had everything in it, the straps, cables, and DIVU were unopened, and so I have no reason to think he kept a charger and batteries. He had put the alkalines and CF into the camera, though. What's really weird is that he claims he bought it in Asia, but it has the latest US firmware version. Sherlock Holmes would like this one, but I don't care, in the end. A good camera, it works great.
I was basically concerned that I got less than what other people
are reportedly getting in their package. The 1300's are worthless
to use in the camera. I just read a couple of reports of different
users getting different batteries in their camera, and I just
wonder why the difference. Maybe Minolta has truckloads of
batteries to dump off on someone...and that's why they're including
them.

Based on someone else's suggestion...I think I'm gonna call Minolta
and ***** about it. Can't hurt....

How long ago did you buy your camera? All the newer shipments of
the camera are supposed to include the batteries and the charger.
I got 4 alkalines with mine also...they went right in the battery
drawer in the kitchen for use in my mini-mag light.

John,

Thanks for the info, but unfortunetly it did not work for me. When I called Minolta they informed me that Minolta is not responsible for what dealer adds to the package. Minolta still ship it with Alkaline batteries. It is the dealer who adds this rechargable to the package.
