Nikon have been known to use upgrades to introduce undocumented
fixes with firmware upgrades. The change from 1.0 to 2.0 suggests
that it is a major upgrade.
The fact that Sigma lenses now work correctly is an example. The
improved focussing on the last D70 upgrade is another.
The improved focus for D70 was annonced.
The AF-ON button error was caused by wrong implementation in the
Sigma lenses. But you are right, this was not annonced. Anything
else?
We spend hours and hours trying to find out what Nikon fixed in this upgrade. I think we should demand Nikon to document these fixes instead. Microsoft, as bad as they are , are disclosing the fixes good or bad. Nikon should do the same.
Some have said on this issue that Nikon was not being a fair player and had on purpose created the incompatibility as an incitement to buy Nikon lenses only.
Apparently not, and the best way to prove it is to provide the fix for free. Well done!

I did not see anything that addressed the Sigma problem, I hav the Sigma 150 Micro and the 50-500 that the AF function do not work with. This is great news and gives me a reason to update.
Do you know why it was not listed in the list of corrections/updates? Seems silly not to mention an issue that effects more then a few owners.
