D-40 samples...

Hi,

It is asking me for a password.
I think I directed you to the page that I can edit and add photos. I have tried to find another page that does not require a password but no luck. I will try to upload to another website and try again-thanks for your patience.

I was tying to view the pictures..but unortunately it doesn't work
for me.

I will try that today if the weather allows me to get out and tke
some pictures...I'll get back to you with my results.

Carmen
The next time you are taking a picture with a tree against a bright
sky try taking a few shots with the exposure compensation at -0.7
and -1. Also take a normal shot to compare these to. The purple
fringe should be reduced if the sky isn't overexposed. This works
with most digital cameras.

Olympus D490, C2100
I own the D40, E10 and Nikon C990. Today I decided to test them
side by side with no correction in image management software. I
used the default settings on automatic at the widest angle of the
cameras. This was then printed on a Canon S800 with no color
management-5 x 7 prints.

The oly cameras definitely look more saturated as they are known to
be. What suprised me was how much detail the Nikon had in the
shadows that the D40 and E20 did not bring out.
All prints were acceptable and it would be a matter of preference.
I guess I will still hang onto my 990-was thinking of selling it.

I was thinking of an E20, but will probably try the Nikon 5000 and
compare now that I know that that Oly and Nikon handle shadows
differently.
However, I enjoy all the cameras and use them for different things.
The D40 is nice just to drop in a pocket or purse.
The E10 I use for important family events and the 990 is kind of in
between.
I will add a url for the pictures on Ofoto-don't know if it will work.

The D40 is definately a notorious Chomatic aberration producer .I returned mine as I felt that a camera priced at 800 should not have a level CA present in that quantity

That's odd, I haven't seen much, if any, CA in my D40 shots, and I have some of branches against the sky (notorious for CA). K.
