Great capture of the mist. The detail the RX1 produces is amazing.

Thanks John,

The RX1 is an old camera but quite remarkable. If I had photos from a Powershot, I would share them but sadly I don't have many that I haven't shared already.

Hi all

I will be closing this competition tomorrow (13th), and hope to post results on Sunday 14th.

Thank you for all the exhibits and entries so far.

John

Nice photos, Dors

I'm not too sure how "CTF" started recently but I'm thinking "Canon Talk Forum."

Randy

I agree with bgreg. The challenge "Autumn" is Mini Challenge #568. The winner will be hosting Mini Challenge #569.

Thanks Randy

I digged into history and reached to this:

HTH. BTW, TBH acronyms are a new language AFAIK. JMHO. HAND!

This is a beautiful tree in our front yard. It has deep purple leaves all spring and summer, and in the fall the leaves turn red and then orange. A few of the leaves, maybe 2% of them, and they're generally the largest left on the tree as they begin to turn, will develop the pattern you see of golden-green 'panels' which are most interesting to me.

Thank you for sharing this image. The pattern is, as you say, interesting. Any idea what it's due to?

I'm afraid I haven't a clue. I will attempt to get a reason in the next while by doing a google search and reading up on the species.

No luck. I believe the specie is a Cotinus Coggyria "Royal Purple", but can't be sure. None of the many sites I scanned offered an explanation for the panels, and none of them even mentioned the phenomenon. :-| Lots of bing image examples, though, showing leaves with the same panels.

Really like the second image. Thank you for these.

I think I asked this in a prior challenge thread. As I recall, this was intended to denote "Capture The Flag," describing the nature of the mini-challenge concept where the winner earns the dubious reward of hosting the next round.
