Challenge topic is...PERSPECTIVE DISPROPORTION

Photograph must have a subject that looks disproportional in size relative to other subject(s) in the image.
  • No visual distortion should be present in subjects.
  • No Composites please.
  • Use of fisheye lens is permitted only if subjects are not distorted.
  • All subjects must be in their normal/usual size. For an example, photo of a toy car in a parking lot is off-topic but if you can make it look bigger than a real car parked next to it...its right on!
This should give everyone an opportunity to participate because there are no restrictions on the subject and the final product completely depends on how the photographer visualize his/her subjects. Just look around where you are sitting right now. I am sure you can come-up with 3 on-topic shots for eligible from your seat.

RULES AND GUIDELINES

The Canon Talk Forum Challenges are open to everyone so please participate. You don't win anything (the eligible entry winner picks the next challenge topic and sets up the galleries and moderates the challenge), but it can be a fun way to practice your photography and get some feedback.

Eligible Gallery entries must taken with a Canon digital camera and be taken during the specified time period.
Exhibition Gallery entries can use any camera and be taken at any time.

You may post a maximum of 3 photos in each gallery.

Photo by photo; please share your comments with your fellow participants. Challenges reach their full potential when the dialogue becomes as important as the photos themselves.

Those who enjoy more plainspoken and critical comments on their work should mark their title(s) with an asterisk ( )

Fixed the image and all. Then what? How can you save the photo after the corrections.

Went through the help file quickly but couldn't find any help there.

Thanks

Ok, I opened RSE to see how it is done.

At the right hand, you have two tabs: "Correct" and "Batch Convert"

If you choose the convert one, you can modify on each file a lot of things, as light temp, exposure compensation, fill light to show more of the shadows, contrast, etc.

If you choose "batch convert", you can set the camera profile, the working space, file format, bit depth, whether to sharpen, and where to save the resulting tiff. You go adding the files to the batch and they automatically start converting. You can stop the process, remove files, etc.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Nugar for the help. But I'm afraid I'm still confused.

Say you are fixing a single photo. You do whatever is necessary...then you save your changes of that photo, right? How can you do that.

Let me put it differently. Where the ^$^%#% is the save button. Ha ha, kidding, but hope you know what I mean.

The thing is like this with RAW:

The RAW file is nothing more than the information you get out of the sensor of the camera. Straight, with no manipulations.

So you would take this file manipulate it and when you are satisfied with the result you convert it to TIFF . But the RAW file itself is never changed, it is always on its original form, because it is just the sensor data.

In this way, if in the future arises a better convertor, you can take advantage from it from a fresh file, so to speak. This has in fact happened to me with the RAW images I took with my G3. Now when I convert them with C1, they look quite better.

After you convert, you then work on the TIF file.

As an aside, RSE does save the settings you give to a raw file on external files, so if you open that file again, it will look as the last time you played with it. It does so automatically and there is no save button. Also, if you delete those files, the RAW will go back to the state it had when it got out of your camera.

Hope that helps,

Humberto

More usage of the brain, i like it, glad i've got 2 weks to think of something though.

Thanks for sorting out the Challenge post by the way, i'd split it into many pieces here, there, and everywhere over the last month. It all makes sense in one go now:> )

Regards
Paul

You were the best host if you ask me. It was so much fun. Very natural and no formalities and such. Well done Paul.
