Kiki, you say to write a rhyme
about how I spend me time
It could get quite a bit tricky
following the instructions from Mikey
I have only four days to get it created
working in Photoshop so hated

Maybe I will spend some time here
Until I've finished me third beer
I must be off now
as I just heard from me beloved ole cow
Saying it's bedtime for the naughty ole boy
NOW

Bugger you Kiki getting me started again:-)
Regards Rod

I saw your post about whether to get a Nikon D60 or the Canon 450D but to just throw a little spanner in the works, down here they have just dropped the price of the 40D by about $500, the store price was about $1850 & now its listed at $1350, the Canon RRP was $1999. This is not a special its just a price drop so I don't know if that will bring it into your price range. Mind you the 450D seems to have better specs on paper than the 40D, Canon seems to get things bum up in grading models a.
Regards Rod

I was just thinking to myself (who else would I think to?? rolleyes ) that my upgrade to the 40D (from the 20D) would have been worth it if only for the live-view and the automatic sensor cleaning features. And there's even more!

I recommend it to anyone.

At the new lower prices I'm very tempted to get the 40D, I was very tempted at the higher price & came very close to getting one just before Xmas. I've been holding off hoping to see the new 5D but I'm thinking maybe the 40D will do me until I retire in 18 months time & then I can look at the new 5D. What I really would like is a high resolution LCD like the Nikon has as I do check my exposures on the screen but I imagine the 3" screen on the 40D would be fine for doing this.

I think the 450D has a newer type of live view with contrast detection focusing but I don't think I will use live that much, do you?
Regards Rod

You probably wouldn't use live view as much as I do, Rod. You shoot mostly big stuff. I shoot lots of small stuff or high stuff where I can't see the viewfinder.

But, when you need it, you'll be really glad you have it.

Yea it just niggles a bit that the Nikon gets the slight edge in IQ in all the reviews I have read. My Hubby says stick to canon - I know where the service centre is.

Re 40D the price is around 300 dollars more - might drop after the 450D comes out- that 300 odd dollars will contribute to my 70-300.

But main problem with the 40D is weight. I think the 40D is 822 gagainst 560g for the 400D> I have weak wrists and find the S3 heavy and can barely manage it with the addon lense.

I dont think so too - though its too early to speak.

BTW does the 450D use only EOS mount or Ef too?

The two types of lenses for the digital Eos cameras are the EF & the EFS. The EF fit on all Canon Digital SLRs including Full frame like the 5D & 1D series (35mm size sensor) & the EFS will only fit on the crop sensor bodies 350D 400d 450D & now the 450D plus the 20D, 30D & now 40D.
