*** CTF Challenge 141 ~ Earth, Wind & Fire ***

I have used Shutterfly in the past (very pleased and great to work with) and also my local printer. I want to try MPix and also print one particular one on full framed canvas. I really need to get some prints done though.. they really don't show up if they are on my bloody computer or the internet. I'll make that a goal this w/e.... to at least get one to five printed. When mom died, we accumulated many many many many many (did I say many?) old photographs of us as kids, grandkids, family photos, etc. I'm still not sure what to do with all those.

Some taken early at photography and some recent. Please comment on what you like and what you do not. Jano

WHCC also does canvas wrap and I understand they do an even better job than MPIX. There are at least two methods of putting prints on canvas - 1: print on paper and adhere to canvas or 2: print directly on canvas. I've been investigating this lately and while it's not cheap, I have a few pictures I'd love to print big and maybe even on canvas. Let us know if you do any prints on canvas and how you like them. :-)

So, I'm printing 2 color and 2 BW a month, the limit for my club - more if I'm unsure which to enter b/c sometimes the print is just not as nice as the monitor image. I use the Epson 2200 which I'm very happy with. Very occasionally I make prints as gifts or cards. I've printed just a couple for my walls. I really need to start getting more up on the walls.

WHCC = White House Custom Colour

I've read a little about them, even on the MPIX forum, and they seem to have a good reputation. I will definitely give them a try, as well as MPIX, and have the same image printed up on their different papers to see which I like best. At least I hope they will allow me to try that. ;-) I'm not sure if there is a minimum or if you can mix lustre, glossy and metallic prints in the same order but if so, I'd like to try.

It appears (to me anyway) that the Eligible and Pending headers are the only ones being displayed in the gallery at this time. I was able to find Exhibition and all the images intact in a backdoor way, but with only a few gallery setups under my belt I'm reluctant to try and fix things myself for fear of mucking it up worse. Anybody able to competantly fix things if it appears Exhibition is missing for others too?

The Exhibition header is missing for me as well. I'm just relieved that you were able to find that the gallery is still there!

Anybody into the NFL? The season just started, and what a bad start, wanted NO to win. Oh well.

What's your team.

Go 9ers!!

I must admit that it was every bit as satisfying as I remember. I only had one chance as it is also as loud as I remember and I like my neighbors. Neithor myself or my equipment was up to the challenge. I would think that it would take an extremely good photographer, an extremely lucky photographer, of a high speed video camera. My S2 is pretty darn fast, fast enough for three shots, but still not fast enough.

Would love to see others explosion shots. Have any?

Just at the beginning of the expolsion. Notice the apple is already moving.

During the explosion.

The end of the explosion.
