I don't really have a work flow Sharon & just work on each shot trying to make it look OK so I never remember how each shot was processed . The main tools I seem to use a lot are the curves tool & the brightness & contrast tool. Sometimes I form an S shape with the curves tool, the top of the S seems to give the whites a boost & the bottom of the S darkens the shadows. I did the B&W conversions using the Lab colour mode. I used the flash on most all of the shots so maybe that helped the whites show up too.
Regards Rod
At Chuck E. Cheese pizza, a pizza and childrens game room for those not familiar, there is a clown car that the kids sit in, push a button, and out comes a photo. The kids usually find it boring and there is always a mess of paper around it. My son and a cousin gave it a try with NO help from an adult.
I'm posting here because it's a portrait but is not eligible since there is more then one face. The image is exactly what was spit from the machine. A black and white 5x7 with what looks like about 10dpi resolution but it is a keeper!
I'd be thrilled if I could get a great shot like that! It sure is a keeper!

Thanks. It kinda ticks me off. I'm pulling the rest of my hair out trying to come up with somthing for this challenge and my 3 year old drops in a coin and gets this.
for which I am very sorry and disappointed... but my mother went into ER/hospital Saturday and the prognosis is not good, so my time will be spent taking care of that aspect of my life. Please note that all admin issues should be addressed to techo, as I will not be observing on a regular basis. Images look wonderful so far in all galleries so please note that even if I don't comment doesn't mean i'm not interested or not wanting to participate, etc.
I am so sorry to hear this, Jano. I will hold you and your Mom in my thoughts and heart. Don't even think about the challenge, we can handle it. Sharon

Too cute, Doug! Perhaps you can get them to pose in a similar way for you. You might have to get into a small box and shoot through a hole though! Sharon

When I go to the Eligible Gallery, I only get a "?", instead of a pic when I click "Sarah" & "Happy but shy gardener". I even uploaded a new "Sarah", still no show. Is this the case with anyone else?
Especially on shots that have the potential to win the challenge
I think it eventually fixes itself but I will try & move it to a different position & see if that shakes it up.
No that didn't work, when it last happened to me I copied all the comments & deleted the post then uploaded the picy to a new post & pasted the comments back in. A pain in the bot init.
Tom, Mereana me missus has asked how old Sarah is she would have to 80 I think but you never know with smokers, she might only be 60
Regards Rod
Well, I guess I will leave it alone till tomorrow & see how it goes. I will ask her age when I see her Friday. Rod, I had a Bundaberg Ginger Beer yesterday, really good! Are you familliar with this drink? Also, how's the no-smoking going?
TomD.
So sorry to hear of your mother's situation. We'll be thinking of you Jano and wishing you the best during this difficult time.

I think there is a problem with one of the servers. Sometimes the problem goes away and sometimes I've had to copy the comments to the clipboard, delete the old image, reupload it and paste the comments back in. Right now I can see your pictures just fine.
