Some taken early at photography and some recent. Please comment on what you like and what you do not. Jano

You both had awesome shots that rightly deserved the win. Congratulations to the other place-getters as well. I suspect we all found this challenge to be not as easy and straightforward as we expected it to be.

So...what do you have in mind for us now, Sharon? (And how many wins does this make for you thus far this year? I think you must be setting some kind of a record!)

Thanks so much everybody for voting for my Clouded Windows! I truly did not expect it to do so well. Truly! I am leaving on vacation Friday and will be totally cut off from the internet. Complete withdrawal! Small boat, no access, two weeks. I am so sorry to let you all down.

Since there was a tie for second place I am wondering if either Rose or Carrhighlander would mind taking over the hosting job this time? I would really appreciate it. Or perhaps they could share the duties?! I know Rose just finished hosting the After Dark mini challenge and she did a great job.

I am so sorry to throw a monkey wrench in the works like this, knowing I was going to be away I guess I shouldn't have entered at all but like I said, I didn't expect to do so well. I hope you will understand! Sharon

I think we can all host this next challenge. After all hosting only really means moving Rods photos to Pending. I'm sure if you give us a topic and a couple of photos for the gallery headers then we can bash something out of your choice. Just don't make it toilet doors.

Congratulations on your win, your photo leap out of the screen for me...until some silly bugger went and deleted it.

Regards
Paul

Sharon's off for 2 weeks, so anotherone could win a challenge ;o))

Sharon, congrats to your well deserved win (errrr....this is so hard to write)
your winning story gets increadible. :o)
And have a nice holiday (but please forget your camera ;o) )

And congrats to you all folks, splendid shots alltogether!

... if Rose or Carrhighlander don't want to step in and take this on I will be happy to do as you suggest and start the challenge. However, things do run better with a designated host and it also means, at least in theory, a little less work for Techo and Jano. It seems unfair to them to add to the work they already do for us. Great idea Paul! Congratulations on your win Sharon. You deserve to be able to pick a topic. We can all sort our way through the next challenge without a host while you enjoy a good vacation. Rod is probably good at putting his shots in pending on his own by now anyway.

Thanks, Armin! I understand what you are saying about forgetting my camera but I am going to be on a slow moving boat with nothing to do but watch the shore go by. It sounds like the perfect time to take a few pictures and get to know my camera a little better. Maybe, like CJ, I will come back with many hundreds! ;-) Sharon

Rose and Carrhighlander and to all the other placers!

I realized that I was so concerned about abandoning you all that I failed to congratulate everyone for doing such good work. A seemingly easy subject really brought out a lot of creativity and we ended up with many really beautiful shots!

Mary Anne continues to do really excellent work and as a result placed in both galleries, way to go Mary Anne!

And those two shots of Tradescant's in the top five of Exhibition are just wonderful!

There were a lot of wonderful shots that didn't make it into the top five, I think everyone should be proud of the work they are doing! I know I am impressed! Sharon

Then you will be running your challenge as it should be. If a host can't run the challenge the second placegetter does it lock stock & barrel. Techo or someone else will set the challenge up for you if like me you don't know how. I know Jock came equal second with you but like most of the blokes we have as a host he was pretty hopeless:-)
So it's all yours I would say Rose. Wot's the new topic then?

Regards Rod

This place is like a graveyard without an active hostess, I say hostess because most of the blokes that run a challenge are bleeding hopeless & we never see em. The girls make lots of comments & know how to entertain. You blokes are a bleeding boring lot.
I like girls:-)
Regards Rod

Sharon you certainly know the voters G spot, well done AGAIN:-)

And a great shot from our Rose for second place & also to Jock for his shot. Great work from Paty & Mary Anne in Exhibition.

Maybe we could make Jock an honouree girl as he wears a kilt. ...........wiv no knickers:-)

Regards Rod

Hello all - just woke up here and see that Sharon is going on vacation.

Sharon - you can certainly pick the topic if you so choose. Techo and I, and everyone else will certainly host the challenge if this is your desire!!

If not, Romy and Carrhighlander can jointly host the challenge and pick a topic between them..... or if one declines, then either or.

I'll go out on a limb here and say Rose and Carrhighland can jointly host and choose a topic between themselves (assuming Sharon passes). Abandoning that idea, if we don't have a decision sometime today.... then we can address it. Techo can certainly set up the new gallery in no time flat.

Any thoughts....anyone??

If the winner can't run the challenge then the second placegetter runs it & chooses the topic. I just can't see the logic in Sharon picking a topic & buggering off for two weeks. Just let Rose get on with it as she makes an excellent hostess, don't worry about Jock he doesn't even know wot day it is:-)
Regards Rod

LOL --- great challenge and I missed what the first place picture looked like.

Congratulations to you, Sharon. Also, congratulations to all the other winners. You are a winner when you can successfully navigate all this technology. I have learned that photography is far more than envisioning the end product in your mind. The process to that end is daunting for the technologically challenged. I was very pleasantly surprised to see everyone's response to the Phoenix photo. It made my day--probably my week and maybe even more. Thank you to all those who voted for Phoenix. I especially want to thank Rod and others who have helped me with the technology piece. Thank you, and I am looking forward to the next challenge.
