Today I set out to create a WB pre-set for a table top set-up (Flash) I frequently use. The camera comes with WB assigned to the F1 button but I had already re-assigned that to metering options so I had the i-Menu and the Photo Shooting Menu as my choices. I found the following:

I can create a new pre-set in the i-Menu but cannot access the Pre-set menu (Fine tune, edit comment, select picture, & protect) to set or alter any of those items. However, in the Photo Shooting Menu, I can access the Pre-set menu to fine tune, edit comment, select picture, & protect existing pre-sets but I cannot create a new one there. No measure option ever appears while cycling through the available choices.

This is not a big deal but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if it's unique to my camera.

That is how it is, and it matches the manual. Even the shooting menu is a bit confusing. It seems like you should be able to edit the presets from the preview panel. I don't like when Nikon alternates between the plus sign, OK button, and "i" or menu button for selection and navigation.
