what's about the background in Instant Karma ?

Oh, I don't think I'll ever win a challenge. But it would be nice
to place. At one point I thought I would but now my photo is in 4th
place.
Dee, i know you have it in you to place in the top 3 and even win a challenge. Your work is great!

well the lamp was about 12 inches from a white wall. not sure if it on when this particular shot was taken but there was a halogen light to the left side. the red wax inside the lava lamp give off a red glow and combined with a long exposure (not sure how long but between 5 and 10 seconds) itensifies this glow. on top of that i bumped up the contrast. that's about it. i tend to underexpose almost everything i shoot to help increase the color intensity. the trade-off here is that to bring the color back up out of the darkness, you also intensify the noise that was lurking around undetected before. i don't mind the noise if i can get it to look like film grain. i'm glad you liked my "Instant Karma".
