Choosing a trigger

Hi,

Based on their blog promise, the JrX receiver will trigger any strobe or studio flash. The 'studio' version will remotely control the power output (dialled into the JrX or PX transmitter) of only some types of studio flash units.
I hope you get someone else to comment on the cybersyncs.
Cheers,
Donald

I can't speak to the radio poppers but the CSR and the CST are simple receiver trigger combination and with the right sync cord and or adapter can work with just about any strobe combination.

The CSR+ and CSRB+ are the new receivers designed to go with the Cyber Commander (when it becomes available) that will give you advanced controls such as grouping, and power levels of Paul Buff branded lights.
I guess thats not what I am understanding. Will the radio poppers
and the cybersyncs both trigger any studio strobe? I am not talking
about controling the light levels just act as a trigger for ANY
studio strobe?

I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean get the new +model receiver either battery or ac version and then use with the plain Cyber Sync trigger (CST)?

Not if you have no intention of getting the new Cyber Commander when it is released, I don't know but I have a feeling it probably will not be ready until the Einstein lights are ready. If you will not be using the advanced features of the Cyber Commander then the plain receivers would save money.
Thanks again everyone for the clarification.

sshark,

Is there a benefit to getting the new Cycbersyncs with the old
transmitter? I am not sure about the cybercommander yet as I don't
know if I will be getting alien bees in the future?

sshark,

Yes thats what I was talking about doing. I wasn't sure if there was a benefit to the new receivers if I was not using the cybercommander.

But I did want to make sure that since they older receivers have a mini jack... that means they will be able to be a simple trigger for almost any studio strobe I choose in the future.

I agree with a previous poster who stated that as one improves the less adjusting at the strobe you will need to do. I do find myself coming pretty close when I initially set up lights so I might just save that money and spend it elsewhere :-)
