!!! Challenge #7

Thank you, David. I'll be very sory if you will not participate in the challenge.

Yehuda
Hello friends,

I had a good sleep tonight, just to discover in the morning that I
lost all the drama that went here.

I would like to thank all those who participated in the challenge,
and for those who voted. Also, my best congratulations for the
winners in each of the categories.

Challenge #6 was a great success, and thank you, way, for running
it up to the very last moment!

Now, after the waves of excitement have settled down, let me
announce the topic of the next challenge:

! PEOPLE AT WORK !
Another "people" challenge........ yuck for me, but good luck to
everybody. Not a theme I want to particpate in. The anonymous thing
is another turn-off. I like the discussion about the photos
etc...this is also what populates this forum with interesting
discussions for a whole week, instead of th usual technical LEVBFS
or external flash thing.

But well, the winner gets to decide. Congratulations again Yehuda.

David.

Yes, but don't you go outside your house ever? What about people you encounter out in the world as they perform their jobs? This challenge can be interpreted many ways.

And I agree, Yehuda, what a wonderful self-portrait. I was impressed by the frankness of it.

There are now large pieces of floor and both beds visible. The trick now is going to be under the beds. :)

Everyone else seems to know... after reading all the messages in this thread I haven't found the directions for the actual submission of the photographs to Challenge #7. (I mean the elementary part... "attach the photo to be entered to an email and send it to STFChallenge7@whatever..." for example.)

Also, does the photo have to be taken with a Sony Digicam? Are there any min or max limits for the number of pixels in the submitted version of a photo? Are there any other background rules for all challenges?

So are you letting the "person at work" know you are photographing them and then plan to post their photo on the internet?

Or, are you just taking the photo and not telling the person and posting it on the internet without their knowledge?

Does anyone know the "laws" if any about invasion of privacy versus someone being in a public place is fair game?

Just curious!!!

Hi Gordon,

Please see my mail titled: "How to upload images to Challenge #7 gallery" a little lower in this page.
Also, does the photo have to be taken with a Sony Digicam?
Not necessarily, but those have to be contain in their title 'Exhibition'.

Is anyone having trouble uploading to Pbase? I've been trying to add a photo to my personal gallery for over an hour.....it doesn't seem to work. It let me establish a new gallery name...but can't upload to it.

Thanks--Ed G.

This concerns me as well, plus the fact I don't want to sneak pictures of people I don't know. I have heard, but have no proof, that people in public are fair game for being photographed, and thus the legality of having surveillance cameras in stores and the like.--Shay http://f707.shay.ws

Ed,

It seems that people have no problem uploading their entries to Challenge #7. Take a look!

Does anyone have a definitive answer?

I have taken a few pictures of people at work without people's knowledge and permission. I am really hesitant to post the pictures for challenge #7.

I guess the law will probably vary from country to country and perhaps even state to state. So the correct answer for some, may not be correct for others. I realize this doesn't help, but we need to beware of it.

I thought that I had the concession on putting text in messages with (nt) headers. I'm afraid that I'll have to start charging royalties.

There's always one isn't there. (eom) means end of message. i.e.
there is nothing written here. Therefore, this does not exist and
you've contributed to the greenhouse effect by stirring unknown
numbers of routers and servers into action. When the ice caps melt
and the seas flood your house, remember - YOU were partly to blame.
