(a) - 3 - working shifts means time is sometimes difficult, the
extra weekend really helps for me
(b) 1 - Nope - though, in all honestly it doesn't make
that much
difference. I'd have preferred a "3 - Not Bothered" here!
3 pts: Summer Sky by Gayle. Simply great, and a fantastic opener to
the gallery.
2 pts: Siblings by Vikas. Very engaging.
2 pts: Mohican by Teapot. Striking, well done.
2 pts: P.I.P. by Lonnit. Neat idea, well executed. Clearly helps to
have a willing model!
Honourable mention:
Snowboy by Thea B. I don't know what it is about this, I kept
coming back to it.. and yet...
3 pts: Not the Soap by Gayle. Considering she claims not to "do"
portraits, I'd say she does OK...
3 pts: Urban Cowboy by Tim Dahl. Worked for me much better than his
other versions... engaging.
2 pts: Remi by JLN.
2 pts: Taz by John Brain. Well posed, excellent.
In summary: So many images made this difficult to judge and I felt
I had to go with the thumbnails - even with Broadband it would have
taken too long to review each image individually (though I think I
have actually seen every one full screen at least once).
Also, a slight tendancy to the predictible "children" images -
though I'm equally guilty (I guess they are the obvious subjects
for many of us), and while I know Joe suggested that this shouldn't
be too formal, I still found myself chosing images which really do
fall into the category of Portraits (whether formal or candid) as
opposed to images just containing people.
I'll get off my soapbox now!
Great work everyone, some truly fantastic images (and I know I have
missed HM's for some outstanding work - but equally I know that
these images will get mentioned elsewhere anyway!
