Challenge 5 Official Thread >> OPPOSITES<<

Lonnit, just curious, what would you say is the color of the
reflected house in my submission? [Very rough monitor-test]

Lonnit, thanks for the feedback! I was afraid you'd say brown. In reality the house is dark red, but as it is a reflection in "black glass" and shot when the sun was obscured, it looks brownish, even on my screen. I'd say the difference between my home monitor and the one at work is that at home it is a brownish red or a reddish brown, at work it is just plain brown. More colorful, and better looking, at home...

Olaf,

I was going to say chocolate or brick red (maybe cinnamon). However, the tiles on top, left look a different type of brick red. The tiles on top, right just look brown.

I was very torn as to say brown or reddish brown. It didn't seem to have enough red to enter the realm of reddish browns though, but I could tell it was a more red brown rather tahn an orange brown (like the roof) or a yellowy brown or a greenish brown. Yes, if it's reflecting in black glass that will change the color too. Perhaps you could go back to the scene and sear the color into your mind and then run home to your monitor to double check just the reflection without poisoning your memory by looking at the house directly. LOL! ;) What about the roof? Am I right that it's a rust color on the reverse gable?

Warmly,
Lonnit

it would be much simpler to post a shot of a well know item, something fairly universal like say..... hmmmmmm, what might lots of people here have maybe A CANON LENS BOX!!!!!! LOL! We could compare reds at least!

Lonnit

Well, I didn't really have any history of opposites in shots so I had to composite to get something to put in exhibit! LOL! I do have a shot planned for exhibition, but the flu has not allowed me to shoot it yet. In the meanwhile comment away on the following! LOL!

Remember "biorythms" from the 70's? I think all 3 of my lines are
at the bottom... so much to do... so little time :)
Yeah, me too. If I scratch my head one more time for the current Challenge, I think I'll need stitches.
Hopefully I'll snap out of it in time to come-up with some entries.
If you find a particular catalyst (e.g. Chinese food, yoga, etc), please fill me in. I promise reciprocal.

:-)

Good luck, Julio.

That was me with the flu all week.

I finally got to shoot my idea yesterday. I needed to look good for it so I had to wait until I was over being sick! LOL! Now to get the time to process and post.

I was inspired by skirt steak last night. Managed to overcook it trying to get the shot!!!! LOL! I forgot that I left the lens on manual after shooting my challenge work earlier in the day - steak was buring while I was trying to figure out how to focus! LOL!

Perhaps a wench would get you out of the rut! Yes, I know, I mean 'winch' but that wouldn't be funny - and wouldn't help you out of this kind of rut.... but a wench might! ;)

Warmly,
Lonnit

I feel like I'm playing stump the band! LOL! It made my day to see
the questions and erroneous assumptions about my entry! Yippee! LOL!

I suspected sodium vapor lights, especially since I've participated in two other threads on that kind of lighting recently. I didn't don on me to consider the color of the room walls.

Lonnit gets serious this time! I planned this one out and it took 3 days of work. I ended up not being able to decide between these 2 so I entered both. I just cannnot believe how much work it took! The model was fantastic though - didn't have to say a word to her the whole time, she knew exactly what I wanted and gave it to me. It's like we were one person!!! ;) LOL!!!!!!!

I hope you like them....
