Marvin,

Do you want to pick another photo for the single point you awarded "Aorta"? You awarded "Aorta" the 4pt max already.
Just clarify what you would like to do, please. Thanks, Ann.
Thanks alot,

Wow!...two really wonderful gardens blooming with SO MANY beautiful
and interesting plant photos. The collective creativity and ability
displayed is so inspiring...what a great group of gardeners you ALL
are! Thanks for supporting this theme with so much enthusiasm...it
was really a joy to host. I'll come back to stroll through the
gardens often.

After reviewing the debate on the voting changes made in the last
challenge, I'd like to try something a little different. Because of
the way this new system will work, I'm asking you to please vote in
SOME way for BOTH galleries. I think people in both galleries would
appreciate a pat on the back. Everyone, please feel encouraged to
vote...whether you entered photos or not. You'll have 48 hours to
cast votes.

Voting Guidelines:
  • Vote within this thread.
  • Cast 4 points for your very favorite single photo in each gallery.
  • You can then award up to 12 more points in each gallery. You
are not required to cast any or all of these 12
points....or to cast them the same way in each gallery.
Vote according to your style preference. Maximum points allowed
per photo is 4.
  • Honorable mentions & comments...as many as you would like.
  • To show appreciation for each other's work, in the traditional,
friendly spirit of the challenges, please vote for photos
other than your own.
  • Here is the format for voting:
Eligible:
4pts_ Title by Artist
(?)pts_ Title by Artist (This repeats as you see fit)
Exhibition:
4pts_ Title by Artist
(?)pts_ Title by Artist (This repeats as you see fit)

This is not very complicated; and it accomodates a wide variety of
voting style preferences. I'm happy to be the "guinea pig" for
this method and tally your votes, however you cast them. Your
favorites will still rise to the top. At the very least, this can
serve as a "poll" indicating how voters prefer to vote. Let the
voting begin, and try having some fun with this part of the
challenge too. The "task" of voting should be a little more
enjoyable, given a personal style choice...but, please, do cast
votes :)

Thank you,
Mike Callahan (MFC)

Mike, thanks for this challenge. It was the right theme at the right time. I discovered plants and blossoms during the challenge period, i never recognized before. Your voting system worked good to me, i was able to bring more pics into the votes. Considering that the number of entries increased, this system is a good solution.

Eligible gallery:

4 pts: thre generations by bezucho – many macros and close ups in the challenge, this image stands out in a "competitive market". Reduced, noble, very clear.

3 pts: Bouquet? by Ori – the harsh colors underline the scenery. What a hard job this women have.

2 pts: Mayapple in the Woods by Bill Borne – i like the perspective. The huge trees in the background, like a dome and the little sharp plant in the foreground. Good view!
2 pts: Blurr by irish_eye – colors, composition, dof. Great image.

2 pts: The Venus Trap by Fremiet – creative as usual and a very, very good layout.

1 pt: Wet Petunias by JB707 – friendly and modest. A photo for a second view.

1 pt: Gone, but... by JamieZX – i like the mood and the thought we are all a part of nature

1 pt: Water and Green by Michele Pesta – the color and shades and the sharpness of this image. Very striking.

HM:
Rabbit’s Sunset by MxCat
Half Dressed by Helen Batts
Red Geraniums by Hamili

Exhibition gallery:

4 pts: Perseverance by kudbegud – most interesting scene, the art of life and survivel. And a very good photo.
3 pts: plant by JoeSchmoe – unique interpretation
3 pts: sunset lillies by Klaus Wiese – simply a good photo.

2 pts: Creepy by Hamili – i like the light, the color and the decentered composition.

2 pts: Primavera by Doris Baillet – reminds me of many holidays i spent in Italy, i can smell this pic.

2 pts: One Dalton missing by Willem – it’s a Willem. Great technique and a good sense of humor.

HM:
Leeves by Kenan Oran
Autumn Leaf by Antoine

So many good images, congrats to all of you. And hey – congrats to me! I have a ticket for a Bruce Springsteen concert tomorrow!

Incredible gallery and extremely tough going at the ballot box. As one might infer from my votes, I think Michele Pesta had one heckuva showing and set the bar for the gallery. Lisafx also lit it up with the best I've seen from her. Excellent showing from some familiar (because they're consistent) names...

(4) Purple Rose by Michele Pesta: Perfect. About as professional as it gets.

(3) couple ... and the others by bezucho. Wonderful story, wonderful picture. Makes me grin every time I see it.

.....having to pick out a winner is quite beyond me. I would decline, except that then the rest of my votes wouldn't count. Life ain't easy. Let me heartily endorse all the positive comments about Mike's attention to the challenge. A better host is hard to imagine.

To anyone not getting a point from me ....I didn't have enough to go round...BUT, Mike, the system is the best so far....at least there is the chance to honor more people.

Sorry I did not leave more comments, but I've been confronted with a million crises to solve and events to attend at school....and that comes first.

Unofficially and most importantly from my perspective I award everyone a point because posting one's work takes a certain something which calls for recognition and needs to be honored.
