>>>>Challenge 25 Voting Thread<<<<

I don't see how. I was the moderater a few challenges back and you can see what everyone votes for if you are the moderater. There is no way for anyone to cheat , the moderater sees all! Plus there are 2 other people who can keep track of the moderater. Besides! This is Olympus people and we are all way above that sorta behavior ;o)

a load of new IDs.

But in fact so few people vote it would be blindingly obvious.
I was just a contributor and never got the full story, but yes, evidently it was blindingly obvious (same IP address creating vote after vote or some such). One of the measures to counteract it was a rule change that in order to vote you had to have been registered at dpreview.com before the vote began. Considering the prize involved (having to be the next moderator), you wonder why somebody did it.

Then there is the time, when a controversy broke out over one of my entries and people's responses to it (that admitily had a different take on the posting guidelines than the moderator had intended) that tore the community apart for a bit (this was the entry Art Lesson in Challenge #10, Flower Art).

I won't be home when the voting ends tomorrow, later today I should say lol. We have eye doctor appointments, YEAH my glasses are pitifully scratched up. I am a lefty eye photo taker and my right lens is so badly scratched from bumping on the camera, it's like looking through a fog! LOL Good Luck to everyone!!!!

I'll go back and look at that, when I have time (working in the UK
at the moment, blast it).

Anyway, all is quite obviously completely above board with this
one, you'll be glad to hear :-)
I must admit in looking back on it (look for the posts around April 18th, 2003 if you are really curious), I was somewhat of a jerk and I wish I had just let it slide, but the whole argument touched a nerve with others. I also had skipped over the rule about voting for yourself (not intentionally, but still...). As I understand my art history, it was sort like when the impressionests came on the scene, challenging the existing order (realists), though it is amusing that the roles were reversed in this case (it was an impressionest challenge meant to be highly edited, and I challenged it with a realistic photograph).
