Dan this is a little confusing, does it mean that the subject itself must be square or does it mean it can be virtually anything provided it is framed in a square format ?

typically that means a photo of anything but crop it into a square ie 4x4 6x6 etc

There are certain subjects that suit a square format....guess we'd better go find some :)

LOL :-) .

Beth is just an ideas machine at the mo. She's just fizzing with them. Square this and square that. There won't be anything left for me to think of :-( . I'll have to reserve some ideas quick!

Good luck all.

Neil.

I'm thinking the same as what Leanne mentioned. I think it just means the image size is square. I expect, though, that having square elements in the photo will certainly help in the voting. I think this will be a good one.

Sorry for the confusion.

It means the latter.

Lots of ideas - which is a good thing.

Now just hoping for a few minutes to go away for some quiet time with my camera to try some out.

Hopefully there will be some out takes afterward this time. Lately they seem to have gone by the wayside.

All the Best to all

still just trying to put my brain in gear.....I'm undecided if it will be better doing square shaped objects within my square. ???

I had the day off today and have been out taking some shots. It is going to be very hard to work out what will be received best in a square format by the rest of the world, let alone rate the rest of the worlds shots myself.

Many of my shots look OK in a square shape but I haven't tried taking photos of actual square things as yet. As Dan has said " I expect, though, that having square elements in the photo will certainly help in the voting", I guess I'd better scrap all the shots I've just taken and look for some square objects to photo :-/ .

Best of luck all,

Neil.
